Abstract

The article in the journal "Endoscopy" discusses the importance of surveillance after polyp removal to prevent colorectal cancer. A study in Denmark evaluated the risk of CRC and advanced adenomas in participants with high and intermediate risk adenomas. The results showed that patients in the intermediate risk group had a higher risk of developing CRC than those in the high risk group, highlighting the importance of the quality of the baseline colonoscopy. The study emphasizes the need for quality metrics for endoscopists performing screening colonoscopies to improve surveillance and screening strategies. [Extracted from the article]
