MANZUM BİR PEYGAMBERLER TARİHİ: ŞEVKET GAVSÎ’NİN TÂRÎH-İ ENBİYÂ’SI.

The works that describe the lives of the prophets from Adam to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), their missionary activities, and some important events experienced by their people are generally called the history of the prophets. Twenty-eight prophets are mentioned in the Qur'an, three of whom are controversial. The stories of these prophets are narrated. The stories of some prophets are told in detail, while the lives of others are summarized. Some of the events related to the prophets whose stories are mentioned in the Qur'an are also mentioned in the Torah and the Bible. By combining the narrations taken from the Qur'an with the stories in the Qur'an and including them in tafsir, history and some hadith books within a certain system, the texts of the Qisas alanbiya came into existence and the first independent examples of this genre in Islamic culture began to be written from the second century of Hijri. The most famous Arabic works in this field are the Qisâʾî (d. 189/805) and Saʿlâbî's (d. 427/1035) qisas al-anbiya.
