AT A CROSSROADS: Clinicians and Law Enforcement, a Partnership to Protect Mental Health.

The article suggests partnership and cooperation between mental health clinicians and law enforcement to prevent mental illness. Topics include role of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT programs) in preparing officers to assist individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, way psychiatrists and mental health clinicians can improve crisis response within their communities, and the use of the Sequential Intercept Model to address the overrepresentation of individuals with serious mental illness.
