Natural fiber reinforced polymer matrix composite is one among the rapidly developing sector in material engineering industry. The most salient feature of natural fiber reinforced polymer is that they are recyclable, less polluting and are economically feasible. India being the leading producer of banana fiber the conversion of it into any useful products aids to reduce wastage of biomass. The source of banana fiber is mainly is banana stem, banana peduncle and banana peel. This banana peel and fiber from the peduncle is powdered and dipped respectively in Epoxy Resin is then mixed Hardener to produce different composites. This paper presents a summary of research work done in the field of banana fiber reinforced polymer composites with special references to the physical and mechanical properties of the composites.
