Abstract

The article "HOSPITALIZATIONS AND DEATHS DUE TO FALLS IN BRAZIL IN THE LAST 2 YEARS" published in the Movimenta Magazine epidemiologically reports the cases of falls in Brazil in 2022 and 2023. The data were obtained in May 2024 by the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) and analyzed through descriptive statistics. It was observed that the predominant age groups in hospitalizations were 40 to 49 years and 50 to 59 years, while in deaths, the age group was ≥ 80 years. The Southeast region had a higher prevalence of deaths and hospitalizations, followed by the Northeast region. Men prevailed in relation to deaths, and in both 2022 and 2023, there were the same prevalences of hospitalizations and deaths. [Extracted from the article]
