Introduction: Lipoblastoma is a benign tumor derived from embryonic adipose tissue, accounting for 5 to 30 percent of soft tissue tumors in children. This study presents a case of a rapidly growing thigh mass in a 16-month-old child, for whom diagnosis based solely on serial clinical examinations proved challenging. Case Presentation: A 16-month-old girl presented with a lump at the posterior aspect of her left knee. Due to the rare nature of the tumor, diagnosis was delayed. Although serial clinical examinations showed no change in size, subsequent imaging revealed rapid growth, leading to a definitive diagnosis. Conclusion: In cases of fast-growing masses in children, particularly those with prominent adipose tissue imaging findings, it is crucial to consider lipoblastoma in the differential diagnosis. Advanced imaging methods should be recommended for monitoring, as serial examinations lack sufficient sensitivity in lipoblastoma follow-up. Our study underscores the limitations of serial examinations in lipoblastoma cases. Accurate diagnosis requires a combination of imaging studies and clinical evaluation.
