Abstract

The letter published in the Journal of Cutaneous Immunology & Allergy discusses the successful treatment of psoriasis vulgaris in a patient with concurrent Sjögren's syndrome and incomplete systemic lupus erythematosus using ixekizumab, an anti-IL-17A antibody. The case study highlights the improvement in skin manifestations of psoriasis and dry eye symptoms associated with Sjögren's syndrome. The authors suggest that IL-17A inhibitors like ixekizumab may have therapeutic potential for autoimmune diseases like Sjögren's syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus, although further research is needed to establish a direct causal relationship.
