Abstract
- Abstract: A new polyoxomolybdates supramolecular architecture with nicotinic acid ligands, (Himi)4[(nic-O)2(Mo8O26)] (1) (imi=imidazole, nic-O=nicotinic acid), has been prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, XPS spectra, and thermogravimetric analysis. The structure of 1 consists of nicotinic acid-coordinated γ-{Mo8O26}4− anions and protonated imidazole cations resulting in the formation of a 3D framework based on hydrogen bonding contacts between protonated imidazole cations and [(nic-O)2Mo8O26]4− anions.
