Abstract
- This systematic literature review (SLR) explores the integration of co-design within the domain of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) handicrafts to address Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Traditional handicrafts, enriched with cultural significance and economic potential, face challenges such as competition with mass-produced goods, loss of intergenerational skills, and difficulties in integrating modern design practices. Co-design, a collaborative process involving multiple stakeholders, offers a potential solution to these challenges. This review synthesizes findings from various studies to identify key themes, trends, and gaps in the literature. It aims to provide insights for policymakers, designers, and cultural practitioners to enhance the sustainability and cultural relevance of traditional handicrafts through co-design.
