Abstract

The National Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Snakebite Envenoming in India (NAPSE) aims to reduce snakebite-related deaths and disabilities by 50% by 2030 through a comprehensive approach. The plan focuses on increasing awareness, improving access to treatment, strengthening healthcare infrastructure, and enhancing surveillance. Implementation involves multi-tiered coordination, public awareness campaigns, and monitoring systems to track progress and effectiveness. Challenges include ensuring consistent availability of anti-snake venom, training healthcare providers, and accurate reporting of incidents. The success of NAPSE hinges on sustained efforts, stakeholder engagement, and community empowerment to transform snakebite management in India. [Extracted from the article]
