Abstract

A 71-year-old man experienced lack of efficacy with cefazolin treatment for infection and developed systemic allergic rashes with vancomycin, ampicillin/sulbactam, ceftriaxone, and moxifloxacin for various infections. He had a history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and shoulder pain, which worsened after a fall and subsequent treatments. Despite multiple medication changes due to allergic reactions, he eventually showed improvement with doxycycline treatment and reported full range of motion in his right shoulder joint.
