Abstract
- Etem İzzet Benice, one of the acclaimed authors of the Republican Era, manifests the influences of his professional life and ideology in his novels. The fact that he is a journalist enables him to publish his works as tefrikas, and he writes his novels special emphasis attached to events, with more limited descriptions, and with the aim of presenting them to the public. The most important theme in his literary works is especially the fact that 'women' are the stirred group in a developing society because of the fact that he was grown up with the ideology of the Republic and made his ideas known to the public. Newspaper, love-adventure themes and reader-oriented novels make Etem İzzet Benice a renowned literary writer. Benice, who writes serials in a way to stimulate the public's world of feeling and imagination, publishes his serials as books with the appreciation of the readers. These novels, which deal with subjects that appeal to the readership of the period, present a structure that contains the general characteristics of popular novels. Benice, who stresses on social and ideological theses while appealing to the readership of the period, expands the thematic framework of his novels by dealing not only with love and adventure, but also with national and historical issues. In his novels, Etem İzzet creates a strong bond with the reader as he tries to present what is from the people in the same period. This bond is established especially with women with the effect of the thematic structure of the works. Because in his popular works, he emphasizes different types of female characters and reflects their fondness, passionate passions, upright stances, their efforts in the national struggle and the wounds they received with the changing society. Etem İzzet Benice's novels quickly became a means of uptake by the readers and Etem İzzet Benice continued to open newspapers with the financial rewards he received in this direction and gave his works in this direction.
