Abstract

The article "Incidental Radiographs Findings Are Customary Abnomalies: Two Years Retrospective Study" published in Oral Diseases in 2024 presents a retrospective study analyzing incidental findings (IF) in radiographs taken between January 2021 and February 2023 at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. The study focused on asymptomatic bone lesions, categorizing them into radiolucent and radiopaque/mixed groups. The findings showed a high prevalence of injuries in the radiopaque/mixed group, with diagnostic hypotheses frequently identifying condensing osteitis (CO) and idiopathic osteosclerosis (IO). The study highlights the importance of accurate radiographic interpretation in dental diagnosis and treatment planning. [Extracted from the article]
