Abstract

The article discusses the potential link between napkin psoriasis (NP) in infants and the development of psoriasis in adulthood. A retrospective study conducted over 32 years found that infants diagnosed with NP had a higher risk of developing psoriasis later in life, with a prevalence of 41% and an odds ratio of 23.44. However, factors traditionally considered predictive of psoriasis development, such as the duration of NP, presence of distant lesions, and family history, did not show significant correlations. The study highlights the importance of long-term monitoring and early intervention strategies for NP and suggests further research to explore the underlying mechanisms connecting NP to psoriasis in later life.
