Análisis del personal ocupado en el sector confecciones de Colombia.

The objective of this research study is to characterize the garment sector with a focus on personnel, based on the 2021 Annual Manufacturing Survey in Colombia. Personnel analyses are conducted considering the type of employment, position, and area of performance, for both the national sector and relevant departments. The results highlight job creation by the sector in the manufacturing industry and the participation of women mainly in production roles as workers or operatives. Differences are identified across departments in average labor costs and expenses per employee, as well as in labor productivity. The Department of Antioquia stands out for its high labor productivity, the superiority of the average costs and expenses per employee, the presence of large companies, high employment of permanent staff, and the hiring of professionals, technicians, and technologists. It is concluded that value-added generation is favored by offering better conditions to employees. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
