Abstract

The article discusses the resection of an anterior paramedian cervicodorsal intradural extramedullary lesion in an 8-year-old child using a posterior-only approach. The surgical technique involved careful durotomy, mobilization of the cord tissue by cutting the denticulate ligaments, and minimizing cord handling. The procedure was successful, leading to complete tumor excision, maintained hand grip, and ambulation on postoperative day 3. The tumor was identified as a granular cell tumor, a rare benign entity usually of nerve root origin, with a low risk of recurrence or malignant transformation. [Extracted from the article]
