Abstract

The article discusses a case of effort-induced upper extremity deep vein thrombosis in a healthy painter, highlighting the importance of recognizing this uncommon condition. The patient presented with pain and swelling in the right upper limb, which was diagnosed through venous ultrasound. Treatment involved early anticoagulation, with catheter-directed thrombolysis and first rib resection being common therapeutic approaches. The case underscores the need for suspicion of primary UEDVT in young individuals engaged in repetitive upper extremity movements, emphasizing the importance of prompt diagnosis and appropriate management to prevent complications.
