Abstract
- The results of mineralogical and geochemical studies of terrigenous rocks of the Early–Middle Permian Reshetnikovka Formation of southwestern Primorsky krai are considered. Based on the data obtained, conclusions were drawn about the geodynamic nature of the deposits and the main sources of detrital material were determined. It has been established that, in terms of their parameters, the sandstones of the formation correspond to arkoses and are rock-forming, the formation of which occurred due to erosion of geochemically mature, largely weathered parent rocks in provenance areas. Judging from the mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of sandy rocks, as well as the position of their composition points on discriminant diagrams, in the Early–Middle Permian, sedimentation occurred in basins associated with the passive continental margin. These basins were intra- and intercontinental rifts and aulacogens. Sedimentation was primarily influenced by continental provenance areas: cratons and uplifted basement blocks, which were basement highs within rift zones. Felsic igneous rocks were washed away with little involvement of ancient sedimentary formations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
