Global integration and the intra-urban determinants of foreign direct investment in Shanghai

Abstract: *: The flow of capital between cities has shaped both the global urban network and the internal structure of cities. Chinese cities have attracted a substantial amount and variety of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the past two decades. The intra-urban distribution of FDI and the location of fixed assets have been significant in their restructuring.
