Abstract

Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) is not usually detected at the time it happens and it may take a long time for the disclosure by the victim to occur or to be detected, with the possibility that it may never occur. People with disabilities are particularly vulnerable. In the educational setting, teachers develop a degree of interaction with students that facilitates their observation in a natural environment for long periods. This allows them to be considered as a key agent in the detection of suspected cases of CSA. However, teachers may not feel sufficiently prepared, needing tools to guide such detection. This article presents the content validation, by Expert Judgement, following the Delphi Method, of a questionnaire to assess signs of CSA in children aged 3 to 12 years in educational settings. The instrument has been adapted for students with mild and moderate disabilities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
