Abstract
- In the field of education, teachers play a crucial role as role models for children, someone who is admired and mimicked. An essential component of excellent behavior is discipline. However, many teachers and staff at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 ignore time discipline by arriving late to school. This quantitative study utilized action research, pretest and posttest analysis, and sequential explanatory designs to investigate whether coaching interventions for two employees and four teachers may enhance the time disciplined, including on-time school attendance, of staff members at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik. Primary data were collected through self-discipline questionnaires and group coaching, and secondary data were obtained from teacher and staff discipline records. The results of the pretest and posttest analysis using the wilcoxon signed ranks test showed that there was an insignificant difference in discipline scores in coachees before and after being given coaching intervention. However, time discipline behavior of coachees did show a difference before and after the coaching intervention. Furthermore, differences in discipline were also found in all teachers and employees of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik. These results indicate that the coaching intervention for the six coachees had a positive impact, both on the six coachees themselves and on their work environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
