Abstract

Burn-related child abuse represents a critical global health concern, accounting for 180,000 deaths each year, primarily in low- and middle-income countries. Children under five years of age from low-income households are especially at risk, influenced by a range of family-related factors. The severity of burns is frequently associated with suspected abuse, leading to significant emotional trauma. Healthcare providers must improve the use of screening tools to effectively identify instances of abuse. A comprehensive approach that includes prevention, early detection, and targeted interventions is essential for mitigating child abuse and reducing burn injuries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
