Stiefel-Whitney classes of representations of dihedral groups.

AbstractWe compute the Stiefel-Whitney classes for representations of dihedral groups <italic>Dm</italic> in terms of character values of order two elements. We also provide criteria to identify representations <italic>V</italic> that lift to the double covers of the orthogonal group O(<italic>V</italic>) and those with nontrivial mod 2 Euler class.
