Abstract

This article comments on the changes in the newspaper format in response to various issues and developments presented in the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" in St. Louis, Missouri. The format is intended to be easy on the eyes with lots of illustrations and photographs, larger headlines, shorter articles and print which is a modification popular to an aging readership. On the other hand, a lighter, airy, upbeat, fun format is presumably going to lure the younger generation wherein accomplishing such task will involve lower emphasis on writing and more on the expanding the graphics. Despite such efforts to modify the daily paper, readership has steadily declined with more and more people are dependent on the electronic media for information and entertainment. The criticizes the way newspaper publishers selects news to be featured more in the daily papers.
