Abstract
- This article reports that condemned inmate Ronald R. Howard, who cited anti-police rap music as the motive for murdering a Texas state trooper in 1992, was executed in Huntsville, Texas. Howard was executed for the murder of 43-year old Public Safety Officer Bill Davidson during a traffic stop for a broken headlight. At the time of the shooting, Howard was 18 and a father of four, and was on probation for burglary. His attorneys argued that rap's anti-police messages influenced him to shoot Davidson as he approached his vehicle on the evening of April 11, 1992.
