Dan Dobberpuhl's Santa Clara-based P.A. Semi Inc. will announce its plans for a family of two- to eight-core central processing units at the Fall Processor Forum, whose theme this year is "The Road to Multicore." By prospecting in multicore territory, veteran Dobberpuhl is jockeying with major players that have already planted stakes in the ground, as well as with other startups.
