Abstract

Studies the frequency of the SDF-1 3′ A allelic variant in a cohort study conducted by researchers from Spain. Identification of the chemokine receptor CXCR4 as the main coreceptor used by HIV-1 in advanced stages of the disease; Indications showing the chemokine SDF-1 to be a blocking factor for HIV-1 infection; Elucidation of genetic polymorphism on SDF-1.
