USAF Readies Universal Interface for Strike Weapons.

Reports on the plan of a consortium of U.S. strike weapons manufacturers to meet at Wright Patterson AFB to finalize specifications for a plug-and-play interface between such weapons and U.S. Air Force aircraft. Development of common software that will allow the Air Force to incorporate new precision-guided munitions onto its aircraft; Requirement of changes to each aircraft's operational-flight-program software; Need of the integration of weapons independent of the block-upgrade process.
