Abstract: The article focuses on circus bands, particularly with band leader Merle Evans and his band. One of the questions people ask from Evans is how he makes the circus animals dance to his music. To Evans, superstition plays a big part in his acts, songs he considers unlucky are not played and that is the end of that.
