Abstract

Abstract: This paper reports the influence of Co2+ substitution on the structural parameters and DC resistivity of Li–Mn–Ni ferrites. Samples having the compositional formula Li0.45− x /2Ni0.1Mn0.1Co x Fe2.35− x /2O4, with ranging from 0 to 0.01 in steps of 0.002, were prepared by the conventional ceramic technique. X-ray diffraction has confirmed the single-phase spinel structure of the samples. The lattice parameter and theoretical density of the samples were determined and the latter compared with the experimental density measured by Archimedes Principle. Porosity was found to decrease with substitution. The temperature dependence of DC resistivity shows the semiconducting nature. The resistivity and activation energies increase with the increase of substitution level. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
