Abstract

Abstract: Novel phosphor of Eu2+-doped SrLaGa3S6O was prepared by solid-state reactions at 900°C and H2S atmosphere. The excitation and emission spectra of this phosphor showed that all were broadband due to 4f7–4f65d1 transitions of Eu2+. The phosphors with different Eu2+ concentrations presented yellowish-green luminescence for both UV and visible excitation (200–500nm). The concentration quenching mechanism was verified as quadrupole–quadrupole interaction and the value of the critical transfer distance was calculated as 17Å. The fluorescence lifetime of Eu2+ was also measured. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
