Abstract

The article discusses the antitrust problems that Microsoft Corp. is having with the European Commission. The commission has warned Microsoft that it has not complied with the 2004 antitrust ruling by the European Union. The Europeans have threatened a penalty of $2million a day unless Microsoft agrees to share more technical information. The U.S. antitrust settlement in 2001 with Microsoft has so many loopholes that it is virtually useless. The Europeans want rivals' software to work with Microsoft's operating system.
