The article presents information about Cave Canem Inc.'s Legacy Conversations series, presented last Friday, in collaboration with the Creative Writing Department of the New School, and funding from the Lila Acheson Wallace Theater Fund. Derek Walcott, winner of the 1992 Nobel Prize for Literature, was the distinguished guest of the event. The evening, which was the ninth in a series that pays homage to distinguished poets of the African Diaspora, was in keeping with one of Cave Canem's primary missions that of providing a home for the many voices of African-American poetry.
