Abstract

The article discusses the case of a female pediatric patient with massive retropharyngeal and mediastinal emphysema from cervical esophageal perforation. The patient presented with swelling of the neck and fever. The patient also had a history of swallowing a fish bone. Radiography and computed tomography showed massive retropharyngeal and mediastinal emphysema due to cervical esophageal perforation. The patient underwent repair of the perforation and drainage of the pleural and mediastinal spaces.
