Abstract

The article presents information on the 77th Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Psychological Association held on May 5-7, 2005, at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago. The program committee was chaired by Ken Bordens of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and consisted of the following members: Michael Bardo of University of Kentucky, Andy Conway of University of Illinois at Chicago, Maureen Wang Erber of Northeastern Illinois University and others. Invited addresses were delivered by distinguished speakers: Lauren Alloy of Temple University delivered a speech on "Cognitive Vulnerability to Depression;" Mahzarin Banaji of Harvard University delivered a speech on "Mind Bugs: The Psychology of Ordinary Prejudice;" Paul Bloom of Yale University delivered a speech on "Bodies and Souls" and others. The invited symposia were "On Four Aspects of Working Memory: Causation, Activation, Time and Decision-Making," organized and moderated by Nelson Cowan of University of Missouri, Columbia and Randall Engle of Georgia Institute of Technology and others. It also includes information on invited paper presentations, American Psychological Association sponsored presentations, business meeting, election results and officers and affiliated members of American Psychological Association.
