Abstract
- This article presents information about a decision from Judge John Gleeson of the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, N.Y. which ruled that the system for choosing judges in New York is unconstitutional. The ruling bars the State board of elections and Republican and Democratic officials from selecting candidates for the Supreme Court positions. A citizens group brought the action protesting the patronage system that prevented voters from having a say in the selection process.
