Abstract
- The article features skier Arthur Brenden Devlin. He began to master the art of ski jumping at the age of five. He was ruled out of the U.S. Olympic team and the 1948 Winter Olympics due to a crash landing. He executed two perfect jumps of 211 and 220 feet on a smaller hill in Banff, Alberta and won the North American and Canadian championships. His performance in Alberta made him the best ski jumper in the U.S. and one of the best in the world.
