Abstract

The article examines the involvement of EpsABCJ genes in the biosynthesis of the exopolysaccharide (EPS) mauran produced by Halomonas maura by researchers from Granada, Spain. The results of the study showed a defective assembly of high-molecular EPS in H. maura due to the absence of the export protein EpsA and the chain-length regulator EpsC.
