Maleficium Intra Muros, or Keep Your Paws Off My Stuff.

This article presents a narrative of the author's experience with university presses. As part of the author's doctoral coursework, she with the help of a journalism professor concocted a study that looked at canonized Canadian novels and surveyed universities across Canada to see which universities were still teaching these canonized texts and which were not. Because of her excitement, she talked openly about her study to a book review editor of a review organ who she liked and whose work she respected. After a few months, the said review organ published a work of the editor bearing the same topic. Since that incident, she learned not to be cavalier about her work and not to be so trusting.
