Abstract

The article reports that Jimmy R. Jenkins, has been appointed president of another historically black institution, Livingstone College, in Salisbury, North Carolina. He resigned as president of Edward Waters College following a plagiarism scandal last year. Jenkins, who was hired by Edward Waters in 1997, is credited with rebuilding the Jacksonville, Florida, college's enrollment and pulling it out of financial trouble. In a controversial decision, the executive committee of Edward Waters's Board of Trustees went on to award Jenkins an undisclosed severance payment.
