Abstract
- The article discusses the issue on how to reduce melanoma mortality in England. Compared to cervical cancer, melanoma kills more women. Despite the increasing number of mortality, it is curable only if detected early. It is hard to blame general practitioners (GP) for over-referring because of their lack of training, relative rarity of melanomas, and the result of a missed diagnosis, which is devastating. It has been suggested that GP should be trained more, including the use of dermoscope.
