The article focuses on the identification of personal tastes and passions of art collectors. Barbara Pine, a former student of architectural history, began collecting architectural drawings when many sophisticated Manhattan galleries were showing conceptual art. According to Pine, she had some paintings from the 1950s -- a Jim Dine, a Sam Francis. According to Tannenbaum, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Museum's curator of contemporary art, RISD has a historic collection of wallpaper.
