The article reports on the onset of carcinoid tumors which accounts for at least 60 percent of all appendiceal neoplasms. Some patients presented with acute appendicitis have had lower abdominal pain, intussception, abdominal masses and ascites. By the aid of abdominal ultrasound studies and computed tomography scans, larger lesions can be identified.
