Abstract
- The article studies the efficacy and complications of radio frequency thermal ablation (RFTA) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in North-East Italy. Possible reasons for the biologically unclear progression of HCC after RFTA include increased intratumoral pressure with intravascular spread, seeding due to arteriovenous fistula, or expandable hooks needles. It was also shown that side effects are relatively frequent following RFTA.
