Abstract
- The article reports that Irish farm organisations have criticised the government plans for a freer market in milk quota. Irish agriculture minister Mary Coughlan has introduced the new system that would start on April 1, 2007. Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers' Association president Jackie Cahill believes that the plan has many flaws. Irish Farmers' Association dairy chairman Richard Kennedy comments on the impact of such changes on dairy farmers.
