Abstract

The article presents the views of Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence in the U.S. Michael V. Hayden on the activities of the American intelligence for national security. Hayden states that the National Security Agency intercepts communications to protect the lives, liberties and well-being of U.S. citizens. He explains that the domestic surveillance system is a pursuit of communications involving someone believed to be associated with the al Qaeda.
