Abstract

The article deals with the campaign launched by the U.S. newspaper industry to boost advertising and circulation. The industry has selected the Martin Agency to develop the campaign. Martin Agency CEO Earl C. Cox has said that research shows that more consumers cite newspapers as their preferred medium to view advertisements. The advertisements created by Martin Agency contain whimsical images of flying elephants carrying coupons and founding fathers floating in baskets designed to remind advertisers that newspapers are both classic and contemporary, according to Cox.
