Abstract

The article presents an analysis of previous research and literature on the clinical and experimental evidence of pancreatitis-associated liver injury (PALI). Focus was also made on the influence of PALI in the development of other extrapancreatic organ dysfunctions, the pattern of liver cell injury and death, the role of cytokines, the function of pancreatitis-associated ascitic fluid, and changes in liver metabolism.
