Abstract
- The article highlights the results of a study which suggests that children and adolescents with disruptive behavior disorders who respond to an initial 12 weeks of treatment with risperidone continue to benefit under six months of treatment with the antipsychotic medication. The research team was led by Dr. Magali Reyes. The study found that time to symptom recurrence was longer for young patients on risperidone maintenance treatment when compared with patients switched from risperidone to placebo.
