Springfield finds itself a new voice.

This article reports that Atlanta, Georgia-based hospitality product distributor Springfield Corp. opted for Siemen's HiPath OpenScape to replace its legacy private branch exchanger-based phone system. HiPath OpenScape is a voice over Internet Protocol-based presence-aware real-time communications software suite, which provides a view of all users and their voice, instant messaging, e-mail, or video devices. It also reports that Engage Inc. created a product that would offer HiPath OpenScape as a hosted service. The embedding of HiPath OpenScape into a hosted service is suited for small and medium-size businesses like Springfield.
